March is finally here now we can start to look forward to the fruit and vegetables, which brighten up our day; Spanish produce is in full flow and has stated to come down in price.
British produce is stating to get in the flow with beautiful forced Yorkshire rhubarb, the jersey royal is making a comeback this month which I have to say is a must buy if you like your potatoes. Prices our pretty high in the sky at the moment as its start of the season give it a few weeks when there in full flow we will see the price drop out. Purple sprouting broccoli is a great side dish to have with a light springtime meal. Peas in a pod have started trickling through the market a must have on your menus.
This is a brief update on produce, for our customers we have a what’s app, which we up date our chefs on a daily basis with pictures, new produce that has hit the market on that night and price changes. We can communicate while on the market which is an upper hand to the chefs, who really want to make sure they are getting only the best produce.
